Paintings of San Antonio

The Zarzamora paintings are inspired by the historical significance of the street and the surrounding area, and the lingering, aesthetic appeal of the traditional Mexican treatment of adobe and stucco surfaces in beautiful colors. In most of the Zarzamora paintings, the Shrine of the Little Flower Cathedral appears. It represents the center of village life yesterday and today.

Little remains of many of my subjects in their 'typico' form: Pink Pottery is deteriorating rapidly; Harold's TV is unrecognizable; Arturo's and Bail Bond significantly altered. All of this happened in the last couple of years, just as I finished the paintings.

Cabinets

Handmade cabinetry explores a variety of themes, both practical and mythological. Drawing inspiration from a variety of cultures, and often the colonial Spanish culture of South Texas, these cabinets serve a mundane function in the most unusual of ways, giving a nod to history and folklore.

Small Cabinets

Small custom cabinets are both original works of art and stunning storage solutions. Hand crafted, carved and sculpted, each is unique.
